KIA KAHA - STAY STRONG
"I'm grateful to my country Aotearoa, New Zealand, and the many people who have helped me along the way."

NEW ZEALAND TO THE NBA
Steven Adams rose from humble beginnings in Rotorua, New Zealand. Half Tongan and the youngest of 14 siblings, Steven grew up in the Māori and Pacific Islander community. His friends and family encouraged him to pursue a career in professional basketball, which ultimately led him to be the 12th NBA draft pick in 2013.
Steven is now known to fans the world over as an iconic big man center, first for the Oklahoma City Thunder and now the Memphis Grizzlies. Above all, he is a proud New Zealander, wanting everyone to experience Aotearoa’s food and culture.
